Jon and Kim Richards! May 21st, 2016
Jon and Kim became Mr and Mrs Richards on an absolutely beautiful albeit windy day on the banks of Rainbow Lake at Lazy Oaks Resort on Rainbow Lake in Pinetop, AZ!
The day was filled with so much love and good feelings. While planning the wedding Kim let me know that she was certain that the tears would flow all through the night, and she was right!
Kim and Jon had so many fun touches. All of the wood working for the centerpieces and other decorations were all made by Jon.
There ceremony was fun and meaningful. I mean, their Great Dane “Willow” was their ring bearer and their three grandmas were the flower girls! Jon’s dad married them.
The reception was a blast!
We got everyone through the dinner line in a fun way. They wrote lyrics to songs on one of the small pieces of wood that were a part of each centerpiece. When the guests heard their song played they got to go through the line.
During dinner we played a fun Newlywed Game.
After some really great toasts I read their Love Story to introduce their First Dance. After an awesome Mother/Son dance Kim danced with her four uncles who stood in for her dad who passed away 3 years ago….and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house.
Right after that we kicked off dancing with one of her dad’s favorite songs, “Gimme All Your Lovin'” by ZZ Top.
They danced and danced pausing only for Kim to dance with her “Homey G-Pa”, bouquet, garter and cake.
About 11:45pm I played “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait as their Last Dance….and then “Shook Me All Night Long” as an encore. About half way through the last song a sherriff’s deputy pulled up. With about 30 seconds remaining in the song he got out of his car and began to walk towards me. I hoped that we would be able to get through the last few seconds of the song…and we did.
